Kids being taken to Africa??

I have been reading the posts about blonde hair blue eyed kids being stolen from Spain etc and taken to North Africa.....

What do they do with kids once they are there?

This may sound like a dumb question - but what use are these babies to these people?

I am really worried as my mum ( who is very responsible - obviously! ) is taking my little girl to Portugal on Thursday!

My nerves are gone but I feel awful saying I'd rather she didn't go........

They are usually sold into prostitution, it happens all over the world and it's sick.

Honestly though, I would say Portugal is one of the safest place for children now. Authorities are more alert than they've ever been and I can't imagine anyone trying anything now anyway after all the publicity the Madeleine McCann case has gotten. If anything you're lucky she's going there and not somewhere where your mother might not be as protective of her (I'm not saying she wouldn't always protect her anyway, I just mean in light of current circumstances she'll be more aware of the dangers around)

Madeleine was abducted because she was left by herself, your mother won't be anywhere near as careless so don't worry.

They probably either sell then to rich people, or they use them in the sex trade, it doesn't even bear thinking about, we live in a sad sick world.

HAte to spell it uot bluntly, but young children are taken to families who cannot have children of their own and are sold by traffickers, or worse still, they are sold to the sex trade.

The McCanns were very negligent and selfish - I would not worry about your mum taking your daughter anymore than being in this country if she is at all responsible. I would doubt than any caring nan would leave her kids in a hotel room whilst going out for dinner.

As a parent I can understand your concerns, yet we cant wrap our kids up in cottonwool (though sometimes it might seem the safest thing to do).

The only thing we can do (something that the Mcanns didn't) is take all reasonable care.

So dont fret, I am sure your mum will do just that!

Is being raped repeatedly better than starving? Is being kept hidden away as a slave and under tight moderation better? Starvation at least has freedom and only the restriction of natures ills.

The trade from countries like Spain and Portugal to North Africa have been around for a long time, it is terrible and I don閳ユ獩 think it takes too much of a stretch of the imagination to reason why they閳ユ獧e being taken there.

Also it is far more poverty stricken, less moderated, it is a perfect place to move to in order to travel to other places of the world and easily avoid suspicion one would get from travelling around Europe.

I閳ユ獓 imagine right now is probably the safest time to go to Portugal as the media glare of events would force must would-be abductors to lay low for a while.

Don閳ユ獩 be alarmed if you hear tales of people touching your daughters head, a lot of Spaniards and the Portuguese have a fascination with blonde hair.

There are people there who use them in the sex trade but also people who want a blonde, blue eyed child as they are dark and are fascinated with their colouring. These people are willing to pay for a light skinned child. When I was abroad people would go out of their way to touch my daughters hair, and tell me how beautiful it was. Most of these people are harmless and genuinely fascinated but just keep an eye out, you can always be more vigilant especially in light of what has happened.

Your mum will be double as caring as she was, knowing you are at home fretting.

She will be extra careful, so you should relax on that front.

There will prob be a bigger Police presence in portugal at present making another abduction trickier.

Theres absolutely NO WAY id let anyone take my child to any part of portugal at the moment, or any time in the future until there police force is improved drastically.

I know her parents left her alone etc, but whats the point in risking it thats your child. I wouldnt let him swim in shark infested waters either.....................
